Raised in Baltimore, Maryland, "Rabbi K" made his way to College Park via short stops in Santa Barbara, California and Kingman, Arizona, and longer ones to Israel and Ner Israel Rabbinical College in his home town. In addition to rabbinical ordination, along the way he picked up a Bachelors and Masters in Talmudic Law, as well as a Masters in Creative Nonfiction Writing from Johns Hopkins University.
Rabbi K brings his passion for Judaism, college students and NFL Football to bear on his MJX work as a teacher, administrator and all-around great guy.
This past summer, Rabbi K moved with his wife Malka, and their three children – Meir, Rena and Shalom – to the neighboring community of Silver Spring, Maryland, where they look forward to welcoming College Park students for years to come.

"Rabbi Ozzie" began his personal history in Cleveland, Ohio before his family made Aliyah to Israel three days after his bar mitzvah. It was tough to adjust to the new culture (and total lack of hockey) and so three years later he was back stateside completing high school in Denver, Colorado. He then transferred to Baltimore to pursue a Bachelors of Talmudic Law.
After completing his Bachelors degree in Talmudic Law, Rabbi Ozzie began business school with the goal of receiving an MBA. Just over a year into the program he concluded that business was not nearly as compelling as Rabbinics and so he dropped out of business school to do full time rabbinical studies, and hasn’t looked back since!
In addition to his educational work at MJX, Rabbi Ozzie has lectured and taught for Jewish organizations in Denver and Baltimore. He has served as a head counselor for several Jewish camps: a Fredrick, MD based day camp, a Pennsylvania based wilderness survival summer program, and a Boy Scout camp in upstate New York. He also volunteers as a chaplain for the Maryland State Penitentiary system for whom he conducts holiday services at state prisons.
When he isn’t doing B.A.R.s in the Union or punching out emails Rabbi Ozzie likes to play inline hockey, snowboard, sail, hike, do photography. He also has a serious interest in philosophy, particularly the “Dead Greeks,” whom he likes to study in the summers with his father-in-law, a Philosophy professor at Notre Dame University. He and his wife Bayla live in Baltimore.
