The Maryland Jewish Experience (MJX), an affiliate of the Meor Campus Network, provides educational and experiential programming for students with limited Jewish backgrounds.
Stressing the importance of questions and the value of deep personal relationships, Rabbis "K and Ozzie", as well as Bayla and Ditzah, bring their passion for Judaism and Maryland students to bear on every discussion, trip and Shabbat meal that they host.
With programs both on and off campus, MJX offers opportunities for any student interested in exploring his or her Jewish heritage on a deeper level. The Maimonides Leaders Fellowship, its flagship program, is one of 25 such programs around the country. The stipend-based Fellowship affords students a comprehensive immersion in to Jewish learning and living through a semester of classes, discussion, field trips and social networking. The B.A.R. (book-a-rabbi) initiative allows students to study the Jewish topic of their choice in 30-minute weekly slots, held in the Student Union. Trips to Israel during each major student break, as well as numerous retreats and Shabbat programs, populate the rich and varied MJX schedule.
